Zoso (Jimmy Page’s Emblem)
Called ” Zoso “ because it resembles a word, this glyph is one of four enigmatic symbols appearing on the cover of rock group Led Zeppelin’s album Four. Each member of the band chose a personal emblem for the cover; this symbol was chosen by guitarist Jimmy Page as a personal emblem.
The symbol is probably derived from a sixteenth century treatise by mathematician and occultist Gerolamo Cardano, where it is used to represent the planet Saturn for purposes of magic. Page is a Capricorn, a sign ruled by Saturn, and Saturn, of course, is the planetary ruler of lead. The symbol also bears a strong resemblance to characters of the “alphabet of the Magi,” a seventeenth century text used exclusively for fashioning magical talismans. What it means personally to Page is unknown, as he has never publicly revealed its meaning, but his interest in magic and “Crowleyanna” is well known. (He even operated an occult bookshop called “Equinox” for a time.) Page’s symbol appears among symbols of the OTO in ephemera related to Kenneth anger’s film “Lucifer Rising.”
An astute reader points out that the emblem is also found among the Saturn talismans pictured in the nineteenth century necromantic fantasy “Le Grand Grimoire,” a sensationalist version of the Grimoire of Honorious. The work would have been easily accessible to Jimmy as a collector of occult oddities.

Those are actually called “Sozo” and are a newer item that plays on the Zoso symbolism in their marketing.

First, Jimmy Page’s symbol – Zoso. The individual three elements of this symbol encode information about the fact that it is a synthetic encrypted ideogram – or conventional sign graphic or written expressing a specific concept without using the letters water. Comparing this information with what already I presented regarding the number four, it is not difficult to conclude that four symbols, especially Zoso, imply a much more prominent than the knowledge that so far it seemed – knowledge is no longer a secret.
So no one noticed the oSo is Segno, a musical symbol, similar to a CODA? Nor that the bottom line of the Z is a Half Note? That leaves the top portion of the Z, which resembles an enlarged Breath mark ( “For bowed instruments, it indicates to lift the bow and play the next note with a downward (or upward, if marked) bow.”)

And yes, Page and Jones were classically-trained. Page had been performing since he was a child, and worked with Jones on a number of studio sessions. Yes, he was gifted, but he still required training to focus that gift to a coherent point, rather than simply bashing out whatever popped into his testosterone-fueled brain.
That would be a semi-reasonable guess if Page had some special connection to bowed instruments, or if it were even drawn in the same fashion (classically trained, but can’t draw it correctly for some reason?)
Further, nothing about the emblem he did choose was “anti-Christian.” This speaks to your own prejudices, as Cardano was a renowned mathematician, scholar, & Christian. And for the record I don’t believe anyone has ever claimed Page was “stomping kittens” or suchlike.

I don’t think you’ve chosen the closest musical notation to the forms in the symbol though. I’m seeing a lot more of a segno or fermatta kind of vibe. They covered coda with the album of the same name.
Just the notions you give in your description of what an occult person would do; “stomping kittens, sacrifices to baal and burning churches” shows you are probably a very ignorant person who has been brain washed by religion from a young age. The occult believe it or not is simply the study of things that are hidden or not common knowledge, if you simply look at the word itself you can see the Latin root for eyes. Bullshit if Led Zeppelin were all trained musicians. The only training they received was when they went on tour to discover and train in the ways of the world. Don’t get me wrong idiots, Zeppelin are my favorite band. But they weren’t trained musicians. They were gifted geniuses, something very few on this earth can really understand – but how did they get that way? They were born with the gift.
Those who boast they can play like them and pretend to be like them are all under delusion. There are people who take lessons forever to learn to play an instrument. Then there are those who simply pick up their instrument and start playing it like they’ve always known how. That’s Led Zeppelin, That’s Rush, Pink Floyd, Yes (with the exception of Rick Wakeman), Genesis (with the exception of Tony Banks), That’s most bands that are really amazing compositionally.
I am 52 years old as of this writing. I went to see Zep when I was 13 with my older cousin during the 75 tour. It may have been that it was my first rock concert, but I became a fan for life at that moment. I caught them again in 77 and went to England to see them in 79 before the death of John. Jimmy Page was the reason I picked up the guitar in earnest. As a result I wanted to find out everything I could about the man and the legend. I can tell you this for a fact. Jimmy Page is a highly trained musician. He attended Art School in London after completing his Sixth Form and A Levels (similar to US high school graduation. There are some old BBC clips of jimmy as a teenager playing in a Skiffle band where he is just playing straight and simple cords, (and only playing like an average teenage boy) It is true he couldn’t read music when he started playing studio music in London. But he was still attending school and learning his craft. By his own admission it took him about 18 months to get to where he was confident reading music. The thing about him and the other members of the band was they worked very hard at their craft for years before coming together as Led Zeppelin. No matter how you slice it, That makes you a trained musician. Every band you mentioned are favorites of mine and massive influence on the music I play today ( In fact Gilmour & Clapton are bigger influence on my style then Page… I even play strats to get that awesome quack) But all of them are highly trained as well. The thousands of hours of practice and learning that they did before they ever stepped foot on a stage is training. The talent these men have is in the music that lives within them and their ability to present it to us all. The musical chops they have come from particular style, inflection and they way they turn a phrase of music. Not a one of the musicians you have mentioned was the type of savant you peak that could simply just play. Most of those kind of musicians lack something that all of these guys have. These guitarist are who they as a result of a lifetime of hard work and dedication. None of us should take that away from them. Thank God they did. Can you imagine a world without them. That would truly suck
