Tears up isaac что значит

Stats/Tears

The rate at which the player shoots tears; a higher value means a shorter delay between one tear and the next!

Actual tear rate is measured in the delay from one tear fired to the next, increasing the stat decreases this delay.

Tears do not have a maximum value, but there is a so called «soft-cap». After certain set values are reached the benefits gained from this stat start to decrease.

Calculations

Calculating the fire rate of Isaac, while not as convoluted as calculating damage, is still pretty counter-intuitive and requires a bit of math and extra stages. Here we go.

Stage 1: Calculating the Basic Tears Stat

The Basic Tears Stat is a stat which affects the final fire rate in a bit of a weird way. These items increase the Basic Tears Stat:

Item Increases Basic Tears Stat by:
The Halo 0.2
Number One 1.5
Odd Mushroom (Small) 1.7
The Pact 0.7
Sacred Heart -0.4
Sad Onion 0.7
0.2
SMB Super Fan 0.2
Squeezy 0.4
Wire Coat Hanger 0.7
Tears Up Pill 0.35
Tears Down Pill -0.28

Note that Samson starts with -0.25 on his Basic Tears Stat

Stage 2: Calculating the Delay

After you calculate your Basic Tears Stat, you can turn that into the Delay (in number of frames) between shots as such:

  • If your Basic Tears Stat is positive, then Delay = 16 — 6*sqrt(1 + 1.3*Basic Tears Stat)
    • Minimum delay is limited to 5 with Basic Tears Start at 1.82
  • If your Basic Tears Stat is 0, then Delay = 10
  • If your Basic Tears Stat is negative but above -0.77, then Delay = 16 — 6*sqrt(1 + 1.3*Basic Tears Stat) — Basic Tears Stat*6
  • If your Basic Tears Stat is below -0.77, then Delay = 16 — Basic Tears Stat*6

After you calculate your Delay, then it gets affected by these items (in this order):

  • Chocolate Milk : Multiplies Delay by 0.8
  • IPECAC, Polyphemus, Mutant Spider or Inner Eye : Multiplies Delay by 2.1 and adds 3
  • Cancer: Decreases Delay by 2

Stage 3: Calculating Fire Rate

Since there are 30 frames per second, the Fire Rate (measured in tears per second) is simply 30 divided by the Delay. Below is a graph showing the relationship between the Basic Tears Stat and the Fire Rate provided the player doesn’t have Chocolate Milk, Cancer, IPECAC, Polyphemus, Mutant Spider or the Inner Eye. Note, however, that since the Delay has to be a whole number (presumably), the Fire Rate can only be specific numbers and caps at 6 tears per second.

Tears up isaac что значит

TboI has 2 types of tear attributes: tears and tear delay. Number you see on screen is tear delay.
There’s a long formula that allows calculating tear delay from tears, but basically tear delay is calculated from tears with diminishing returns and then all the tear delay items directly change tear delay.
Note that the lowest tear delay is 5 (5 tears per second), unless you take items that reduce tear delay, then the cap goes down. Lowest possible tear delay is 1 (15 tears per second).

Items that reduce tear delay directly:

  • Anti-Gravity: -1 tear delay
  • Capricorn: -1 tear delay
  • Chocolate Milk + Lucovido Technique: -1 tear delay
  • Crichet’s Body: -1 tear delay
  • Epiphora: 0.5x tear delay at max charge
  • Gilloutine: -1 tear delay
  • Milk (after taking damage for current room only): -2 tear delay
  • Mom’s Perfume: -1 tear delay
  • Pisces: -1 tear delay
  • Purity (blue aura): -4 tear delay
  • Soy Milk: 0.25x tear delay — 2

Trinkets that reduce tear delay directly:

  • Cracked Crown: -1 tear delay
  • Cancer: -2 tear delay

Items that increase tear delay directly:

  • Brimstone: 3x tear delay
  • Dr. Fetus: 2.5x tear delay
  • Eve’s Mascara: 2x tear delay
  • Ipecac: 2x tear delay + 10
  • Monstro’s Lung: ?x tear delay
  • Mutant Spider: 2.1x tear delay + 3
  • Polyphemus: 2.1x tear delay + 3
  • The Inner Eye: 2.1x tear delay + 3

    «Tears Up» pills not working

I found a Tears Up pill and copied it a whole bunch of times with Jera + Blank Card. After eating an entire double room of pills, my Tears stat is only at 3 and Isaac is not visibly firing faster.
    Is this supposed to happen?

There is a ceiling value for your base tear rate, but this can be modified by what items you pick up. Eve’s Mascara, Polyphemus, The Inner Eye, and Mutant Spider will reduce your tear rate by a given modifier. Your rate of tears is dependent both on your base rate and the modifier.

Also, the tears stat is a bit odd in that maxing it out through normal means will not show up as a maxed stat on the stats screen. The only way to get that max level tears stat is through Soy Milk, but that massive damage reduction doesn’t usually make that worth it.

Generally speaking you shouldn’t count on the stat screen to be perfectly accurate.

You need to remember that Tear Rate is measured in the delay from one tear fired to the next, increasing the stat decreases this delay.

Tears do not have a maximum value, but there is a so called «soft-cap». After certain set values are reached the benefits gained from this stat start to decrease. This means that after a bunch of Tears Up pills eaten you won’t see any improvement.

Your Tear Rate dependes on two factors: Basic Tears Stat and Delay.

    • Basic Tears Stat is a stat which affects the final fire rate
    • Delay is the number of frames between each shot, and depends on Basic Tears Stat

Since there are 60 frames per second, the final Fire Rate (measured in tears per second) is simply 60 divided by the Delay.
Note, however, that since the Delay has to be a whole number (presumably), the Fire Rate can only be specific numbers.

Note: In the previous Binding of Isaac Tears Rate was «capped» at 6 tears per second, so presumably there’s a cap value in the remake, too.
