We all know how hard it is to study at school. However, some subjects make our time at school more enjoyable. I am going to tell you about one of them. I adore this subject. Some people call history boring but for me it is like a breath of fresh air. It is a shame that we have this subject only twice per week. He is a very interesting speaker. It is a pleasure to listen to him. He also answers all our questions and helps with homework. I think when I grow up, I want to be a history teacher, too. I am trying to get only excellent grades for history. Usually, I am very disappointed when I get a four, but my mom says that it is okay, you can’t get excellent grades all the time. In conclusion, I would like to say that history is a really important subject and I want to know it better than others.

Fine Art / Изобразительное искусство

I like drawing. That is why my favorite subject in school is fine art.

It is the only class where we can be really creative. Our works are not evaluated according to strict criteria. So no one gets nervous.

We learn how to make a composition, to combine colors. We use pencils, crayons and brushes. I think visual art is a good training for a brain, because it is not so easy to draw an object realistically. By drawing an object we actually study it: we notice details, assess its proportions.

On the other hand, we don’t have to make realistic drawings every time. We can depict our vision and our fantasies. It is very interesting to compare pictures drawn by different students on the same theme.

Studying such subjects as math makes me feel exhausted. But after fine art lessons I feel full of energy. Maybe I even will become a designer in the future.

Physical Education / Физкультура

We spend most of the time in school sitting at the desk. So I am always looking forward to our gym class, where we can limber up.

I enjoy running, jumping and playing sport games like football, volleyball or basketball. In winter we ski. It feels so good to have some fresh air between other lessons.

Physical education classes help us to be fit and healthy. We train our muscles by doing different exercises: squats, push-ups, pull-ups. We also do stretching.

Our PE classes are always fun. I like team games, because they are emotional and unite students. Our PE teacher also encourages us participate in sport festivals and competitions between several schools. I love such events.

I am not sure yet whether or not my future profession will be sport-related. But gym class is really my favorite.

In elementary school we studied mathematics. Now we have two subjects instead of one: algebra and geometry. I like both of them very much.

I believe that math is one of the most important subjects in school. Everyone needs to be able to count even to perform such a routine task as shopping. And adult people should be able to calculate the taxes, to choose a mortgage program according to their income, to figure out how many rolls of wallpaper they need for the room, etc.

Math is not a difficult subject for me. I have no problems with applying theorems and formulas. I like to make calculations and solve equations. I always get good marks.

Studying math gives me confidence in my future professional success, because proficiency in exact sciences opens a lot of career opportunities. I think I might become a computer programmer or a big data analyst. And these jobs are quite well paid.

To be honest humanities are boring to me. I have a feeling that we study too many details. We have to memorize plenty of names and dates. But will we really use all that knowledge? When it comes to math I never have such doubts. That’s why it is my favorite subject.
